| Football is Coming Home? |
The Football World Cup is due to start shortly and whether you love or loath it, there will be no getting away from it.
Maybe you have booked a trip in a country that is taking part in the World Cup whilst you are out there, the best advice would be to sit back, relax and watch someone else suffer the heartbreak, ecstasy, and fingernail biting while you relax, but be ready for your turn!
If you couldn't think of anything worse than hearing, seeing and reading all things football for the next month, we suggest maybe taking a trip to Ireland, Egypt or Costa Rica, all three were indignant at the way they were eliminated from qualifying for the World Cup so might be as disenchanted with the World Cup as you.
Whether you stay at home or are travelling the globe, one thing is certain, football is coming home... well at least until we lose on penalties! |

| Keener Pricing, still Great Cover! |
We are pleased to announce that we have new policies; our new Economy, Standard and Premier policies are now underwritten by Fortis, one of the UK’s leading underwriters.
We have kept the original MRL philosophy of understanding that you want value for money by making sure the levels of cover are still great but we have managed to make sure they are also at an excellent price. So our new wider range of cover levels are made even better by our new keener pricing structure.
Our price reduction for under 65’s means that you, your partner or the whole family can get away safe in the knowledge that you have a MRL Insurance policy which covers you.
Finally we have made our quotes system even easier to use and it now allows you to compare single and annual policies to see which would be best value for you.

| $10 charge to enter US to be implemented |
US authorities are going to start charging British tourists a minimum of $10 to enter the country on the current Visa Waiver Program. The Visa Waiver Program allows people from Britain to enter the USA without a visa and until now a traveller would have to fill in a green I-94 visa waiver entry form.
But now, visitors on the Visa Waiver Program apply online via the Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA) and will soon pay a $10 fee for entry plus a "nominal" currency conversion charge. The ESTA has already been mandatory for visa waiver travellers for six months, but until now it has been free. Around 20 million people have applied for one and been approved.
This decision was passed in US congress in March 2010, from when the bill is passed the US government have 6 months to implement these changes, which would mean that this charge will be in effect from September 2010 at the very latest.
Subsequently, if you are thinking of visiting the US in the near future apply for the ESTA now, as this charge has not yet been put into force. Once the application is approved, the ESTA allows entry to the US for two years. The application normally only takes a matter of minutes but can take a maximum of 72 hours and there has been a 99 per cent approval of applications.
In case you missed last months edition…
If you are planning to travel to Cuba you must show your travel insurance documents on arrival and your insurance must cover the duration of your trip.
This new government legislation applies to both visitors from overseas and also Cubans living abroad.

| And finally... Are you ready for Fathers Day? |
| It is that time of year again, Fathers Day, the day that isn't quite as big or ostentatious as Mothers Day but is still some way ahead of Pancake Day.
For your information it’s the 20th June this year!
A lot of people think Fathers Day was an idea drummed up by the commercial population, but it actually has a very sincere and honourable origin.
In 1909 Sonora Smart Dodd was sitting in a Mother's Day sermon at the Central Methodist Episcopal Church, Washington, USA, she wanted a day that honoured fathers like her own, William Smart, a war veteran who had raised 6 children on his own since Sonora was 16. She was the first to solicit the idea of having an official Fathers Day observance to honour all fathers. In the decades that followed the idea was never made an “official” holiday until US President Nixon made a proclamation in 1972.
Happy Fathers Day to all our Fathers from MRL!
